A sad Story

This was a very sad story that was told. This man had a great childhood just waiting for him and the evil Germans took it away. The Germans are rutheless and savage. The German army could have no soul just slaughtering the innocent like that. Hitler thought he could pick who lived and who died, that is only one persons job and thats God the Almighty. The Jews at the time were a very peacful people and were not bothering anyone. The Germans had no right to do what they did. I think the Germans should be punished for what they did wrong but it is not my say so i will leave it up to God.

Gossip

Gossip.......... it is one of the worst drugs in high school. It is not illegal but it is addicting when you start a gossip and you here everyone talk about it, it makes you want to start another one. When people start gossips they don't realize how much it can hurt people. People that think they are cool and think they need to start gossip is wrong. No matter what people say at one time or another they have most likely started a rumor. I will admit to it, I have and i regretted it deeply. I also have been one that it was talked about. All you can do is don't let it bother you. Even when everyone seems against you, don't let it get to you because if you do then they will start making up more rumors.
I made this video because i wanted to make a video about one of my favorite songs when i was little. I picked the song Bye Bye Bye by Nsync. they were one of my favorite bands when i was a little kid. I look back on their songs now and they didn't swear or of dirty videos which is hard to find now a days. I picked these pictures to go with each of the lines that is played. Some of these pictures are more to me than just they go with the song, some of these pictures go with my life. Like the picture with the two friends represent me and my best friend hanging together like we always do. I also picked the family picture because you need to have a happy family or more than just your life at home will be messed up. I hope everyone likes the video.

PSA

Our project is on not getting schooled in basketball. We are doing this project because at one time we all played basketball and some of us still do, but we want to show people why you do not want to get schooled. I am in a group with Blake, Jeff, Brett, and Carson. We are waiting for Carson to finish so we can finish this project. Are name is Kicken It Old School. I came up with the name which makes me feel really good inside :). We are trying to save kids from being schooled and embarrassed.  I am for this cause because i have been embarrassed and its not a fun feeling at all. Especially in front of a crowd of people who make you feel even worst. I hope this project goes well and we get a good grade.

Easter Break

Easter break was a fun time and i was a great time to get away from school. Over my Easter break I wasn't lucky enough to go to Florida or Mexico but i still got to have a lot of fun. I got to play my xbox some which was a lot of fun i like poning newbs in my favorite game, Gears of War 2. I had soccer practice some too. One of my favorite days was Saturday. I got to go down to St. Louis. Down in St. Louis i got to play soccer. I went to the SIUE soccer camp. They have an amazing nice field and they recently moved back up to D1 so they are good. I got to play there all day and at the end of the day i go picked to play on the all-star team to play against the college team. The last thing i did was go see The Fast and Furious 4. It was a very cool and they were so many nice cars i was so jealous because I am looking for a new car and i would have taken any of those.

Courage

http://imagecache.allposters.com/images/pic/118/049_F102161%7ECourage-Posters.jpg
"Courage".
This picture means a lot to me. Not only because in a lot of things you do you have to have courage but that my dad is a firefighter. They have to have a lot more courage then everyone else because they are choosing to put their lives in danger just to save some one they probably have never met. Willing to die is something that I find very brave and noble. Courage does not mean showing off to your friends, trying to look cool doing something stupid. Being courageous means doing something great and not looking for praise just feeling good knowing you helped someone. There are other lines of duty that you have to put your self in the line of fire. My cousin does it everyday in Iraq as well. He is a soldier for the US army. These are the things I think of when I hear the word courage.

Lent

My Lenten has been really hard for me this year for me. This year i gave up fries and candy from the candy store. I use to get both of them everyday but now I can not. i have been saving a lot of money. Since the only time I can get either of these is during the week I do not have a day that I can get them. Usually you can get them on Sunday but I do not go to school on Sunday so on cheese fries days i can get cheese fries. We only get cheese fries though twice in the entire Lenten season so it is not that many times. I do believe it has brought me closer to God as well. Every time I get into the fries line I have to pray to God so I do not fall into temptation and get fries because the all look really good.

Future Career

There are many jobs in the world today I am not one hundred percent sure. One thing i might want to be is a marine biologist. Marine biologist would be a very cool job. Marine biology works with animals. I love animals and it is a lot of fun to learn new things about animals. Another job i might want to have is to be a fireman. My dad is a fireman and I have seen a lot of people do this job. I know a lot of people that have been a fireman or is a fireman now. They do a lot of great things, they help people and save a lot of people. They only have to work once every three days so you can do a lot of things on your time off.

Service Project

For Peoria Notre Dame School you have to do one hundred service hours before you can graduate. Service hours mean you don't get paid to do work. I chose to do my service hours with a friend. Myself and Nate Bell helped out assisting teaching. We assisted a teacher at the school of Thomas Jefferson. We did one hundred and three hours. We worked with second graders during the summer. We did it before freshman year so we did not have to worry about it later. We helped out where ever we were needed. We did everything from stacking books to helping the kids to read. It was a lot of fun and not having to worry about the feeling that you have to do one hundred service hours.

Paul Harvey

Paul Harvey was an American radio broadcaster for ABC. The son of a policeman, Harvey made radio receivers as a young boy. In 1933, at a high school teacher’s suggestion, he started working at KVOO in Tulsa. His first job was helping clean up. Eventually he was allowed to fill in on the air, reading commercials and the news. In 1944, he began broadcasting form the ABC partner WENR. He quickly became the most popular newscaster in Chicago. He was a very famous. Unfortunately I never got to hear but maybe sometime soon I will get to watch him on the internet.

Pic Name

My project that I am working on right now is the picture-name assignment. In this project we either have to go take pictures of things that resemble letters or find pictures on the internet. I chose to get mine off the internet, it will be easier and i do not have the time to go looking or taking pictures at my house. I had a lot of trouble at first trying to find my pictures. I am not a very creative person and i get frustrated really easily. The pictures are kind of hard to find but once you find some you want to go and find more because it is a lot of fun. I found some really cool pictures to spell my name. I even got my project in a little bit early before it was due.

The Sun

It was a quiet day on the Sun. The above image shows, however, that even during off days the Sun's surface is a busy place. Shown in ultraviolet light, the relatively cool dark regions have temperatures of thousands of degrees Celsius. Large sunspot group AR 9169 is visible as the bright area near the horizon. The bright glowing gas flowing around the sunspots has a temperature of over one million degrees Celsius. The reason for the high temperatures is unknown but thought to be related to the rapidly changing magnetic field loops that channel solar plasma. Sunspot group AR 9169 moved across the Sun during 2000 September and decayed in a few weeks. Nemiroff, Robert. "APOD: 2004 October 10 - Sunspot Loops in Ultravoilet." Astronomy Picture of the Day. Ed. Jerry Bonnell. 10 Oct. 2004. NASA. 19 Feb. 2009 http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap041010.html?>.
This picture is astonishing to look at. I have never seen more of a pretty picture in my life. This picture has a lot of symbolic meaning to me. The fire almost reminds me of what I imagine as Hell looking like. The flames would consume you and you would burn forever. This picture also reminds me of destruction. All the forest fires the people out in California have been having. The fires have not only been damaging people's house but the forest and it is destroying a lot of animals environments. This picture almost reminds me the symbol of power. Fire can have a lot of strength and can keep you warm when nothing else can, kind of like the sun.

going crazy

Tonight we have our biggest rivalry game against Peoria Richwoods. This will be the second time we play them. We played them first at their home but not its time for them to come to our house. We beat them the first time but i think they will be ready to come and bring it. Today we got a talk to not boo the other team because there is an old Notre Dame student that transferred. We like to rip on him but we got in trouble. And now if we do it we get kicked out. Even though Dunlap did it to us in soccer because one of their students transferred to ND. It was one of the greatest moments of the season when he scored the first goal against them. I think we should be able to yell whatever we want.

Swim Away

I believe the media is going way to far in their reporting. Michael Phelps is not only a great athlete he is a great role model. Even though he did do weed he is a human being. Every person in the world makes errors. He may be a a great swimmer but that doesn't make him perfect. Every one falls to temptations no one is perfect. But the media doesn't need to trespass or infiltrate his privacy. Many people believe that stars like Phelps should have a camera following them all the time, but what they really want most is having some alone time and not have the media bug them all the time.

Just a few days ago I had to do a project on oil spills. At first I didn’t think much of it until I got into the project. I learned how much damage one oil spill can do.  There are so many animals that are affected by the oil. Some animals are becoming endangered from it. A company called Exxon Valdez had one of the worlds largest oil spills in the world. They spent 2.1 billion dollars on the just the clean up alone. They also use a lot of resources that could have been used for better things. They also killed over 300,000 animals.

Mortgage

I think the government should give you aid if you need the help paying for your house. There also wouldn't be any strings attached. There are many people in the United States that are homeless or getting their house seized by the bank. The bak should not have an say in your house. Banks will always have a say in your house so they should at least be fair and not take your house ever. If my house was going to be taken there would only be two people I could turn to. One would be my grandma and the other one would be my parents.

ME!!

Hey I'm Drew and I'm going to tell you a little about myself. I play two sports and that's basically what my life revolves around. I've been playing soccer and baseball since i was three but i quit baseball last year. I play soccer year round every year. This year my team one state it was an experience like no other. I also play basketball, it is a lot of fun when i get to play with my friends. I don't just do sports every now and then i like to go to Indiana and ride my four-wheeler. I like hanging out with my friends and to party.

Inaugural Events

I thought the inaugural event was pretty good this year. There were a lot of people around the United States watching it, unfortunately i did not get to see it because i was in class. Some of the students at my school did get to watch it though. I think president Obama is trying to turn America around in some really good ways but in my opinion he has made some bad decisions. Like letting the prisoners out of jail in Cuba and his look on abortion. He is very Pro Choice and is all for abortion which is not right. He has done some goods to, like trying to get the troops out of Iraq which is a major thing to me because one of my close cousins is a soldier.

This year was one of the best Golden Globes in my life time. My favorite winner was Heath Ledger. Heath Ledger unfortunately passed away from a drug overdose. He did an amazing job in Batman The Dark Night. He played the Joker and he did a phenomenal job.  He won best performance by a supporting role. I thought The Dark Knight should have won the best motion picture films. It was one of the best movies in the past five years. Another big award was won by Slumdog Millionaire. The won Best Motion Picture in Drama. The also won three other awards.
