Courage

"Courage".
This picture means a lot to me. Not only because in a lot of things you do you have to have courage but that my dad is a firefighter. They have to have a lot more courage then everyone else because they are choosing to put their lives in danger just to save some one they probably have never met. Willing to die is something that I find very brave and noble. Courage does not mean showing off to your friends, trying to look cool doing something stupid. Being courageous means doing something great and not looking for praise just feeling good knowing you helped someone. There are other lines of duty that you have to put your self in the line of fire. My cousin does it everyday in Iraq as well. He is a soldier for the US army. These are the things I think of when I hear the word courage.

Paul Harvey
Paul Harvey was an American radio broadcaster for ABC. The son of a policeman, Harvey made radio receivers as a young boy. In 1933, at a high school teacher’s suggestion, he started working at KVOO in Tulsa. His first job was helping clean up. Eventually he was allowed to fill in on the air, reading commercials and the news. In 1944, he began broadcasting form the ABC partner WENR. He quickly became the most popular newscaster in Chicago. He was a very famous. Unfortunately I never got to hear but maybe sometime soon I will get to watch him on the internet.

The Sun
This picture is astonishing to look at. I have never seen more of a pretty picture in my life. This picture has a lot of symbolic meaning to me. The fire almost reminds me of what I imagine as Hell looking like. The flames would consume you and you would burn forever. This picture also reminds me of destruction. All the forest fires the people out in California have been having. The fires have not only been damaging people's house but the forest and it is destroying a lot of animals environments. This picture almost reminds me the symbol of power. Fire can have a lot of strength and can keep you warm when nothing else can, kind of like the sun.

Just a few days ago I had to do a project on oil spills. At first I didn’t think much of it until I got into the project. I learned how much damage one oil spill can do. There are so many animals that are affected by the oil. Some animals are becoming endangered from it. A company called Exxon Valdez had one of the worlds largest oil spills in the world. They spent 2.1 billion dollars on the just the clean up alone. They also use a lot of resources that could have been used for better things. They also killed over 300,000 animals.
